goes hand-in-hand with time spent
together, on a walk or drive,
a day out with the sole intent to connect
outside the boundaries of what
we’ve come to expect—to give
a little more, stay open
to surprises the Lord might
have in store
A simple way to reconnect is simply to stay open to the possibility that there is more in store, even as we come to the place in our lives, our relationships, of loving all we already have. Contemplating the future (or present) together being more satisfying than complaining about it (alone).
