eternity

Poets on street corners

bend back bars

for people passing

to witness, to signal

the sound of a heart

beating in time with eternity

—the single revelation

of a new believer

turning to see

who calls them now.

    1. Thanks Connie – I felt somehow the poem came full circle when spoken. I heard they were meant to be oral. Not sure why or if that applies to other forms of writing, but with poetry for sure, there is a fullness in being heard. – Blessings, Dayna
